***What is the Enterprise Edition? The Enterprise Edition automatically synchronizes the data for each of the computers on your network. If one computer goes down or gets unplugged, your store is still running. If your server should go down, each of your stations will continue to function. Synchronization is done continuously when your computer is idle. Using the Enterprise Edition reduces the already low chance of down time due to computer failure.

Release 9.20 August 20th, 2003
1. ** NEW ** The "Enterprise
Edition" of CRE and RPE is now available. This is a new edition of CRE/RPE
that allows your cash registers to keep running if the server goes down. This is
a great upgrade for any multi-register
store or restaurant, reducing the chance of downtime in your business.
2. ** NEW ** "Receipt Listing" report added. This report lists each
receipt, with the date, cashier/server, and list of each item on the invoice. It
is in the Sales category of the Reportingscreen.
3. ** NEW ** "Zero Movement" report added. This report will show you a
list of all items that have not been sold within a date/time range. Regular use
of the Zero Movement report will show you what is not selling, allowing
you to use your shelf space more effectively. The zero figures can be generated
for all your inventory, or for specific departments and/or vendors.
4. ** NEW ** Added "Job Codes" to Employee Maintenance. An employee
can now work multiple jobs, at different wages (ex: a retail employee can be
cashier today and a stock-taker tomorrow. A restaurant employee can be server
today and dishwasher tomorrow.) If the job codes are set up, employees will be
prompted which job code they are working. The shift report can be printed when
they clock out to show their daily sales and activity.
5. ** NEW ** Opening and closing drawer amounts added to the software, with
automatic calculation of over and short. This option needs to be enabled through
a "Job Code" in the Employee Maintenance screen.
6. ** NEW ** Added "Inactive" option for an inventory item in the
Inventory Maintenance screen. If an item is set to inactive, it will not appear
in the invoice dropdowns, the inventory reports, the reorder reports, and the
Purchase Orders screen. This allows you to clean up your lists by not including
items that you no longer sell. Inactive items will still appear in Inventory
Maintenance and your sales reports, so you can reactivate them and see their
past performance.
7. ** NEW ** "Prompt for Rental or Sale of Rental Items" option added
to the Inventory tab of the Setup Screen. When you ring up a rental item with
this option enabled, CRE/RPE will ask you if you want to rent this item (at
the price) or sell this item (at the retail price.)
8. ** NEW ** "Require Description for Instant POs" option added to the
Inventory tab of the Setup screen. When you receive an item through the Instant
PO function, it will allow you to enter a description of why you are making the
adjustment.
9. The "Late Rentals" report has been modified to include the due
date, number of days late and an alternate phone number to supplement the main
phone number. The report has also been reformatted to be easier to read.
10. For rentals, the receipt now prints the day of the week the rental is due,
in addition to the date (i.e. Saturday 5/25/2003 now prints, as opposed to just
5/25/2003 in previous versions).
11. ** NEW ** Added "Delete" button to the Employee Maintenance
screen. This will allow you to delete an employee who has not processed any
invoices. Employee '01' may not be deleted.
12. Removed the "Printer Setup" tab of the Setup screen. These options
have become obsolete and were replaced by newer features over a year ago.
13. Added the invoice #, quantity and grand total to the "Purchasers of
Items" report.
14. ** NEW ** Added employee permission for opening the cash drawer. In the
past, the administrator password was required to open it; now, it can be done by
employees with the proper permission.
15. If you make an A/R payment via credit card, it will now print two copies of
the receipt as opposed to only one.
16. The employee name will now print on the DDR if:
-- The employee has a name entered in employee maintenance
-- You select a specific cashier ID from the cashier ID list
17. ** NEW ** The receipts can now print the suggested tip amount for a credit
card sale. If the "Print Sugg CC Tip" option in the 'Receipt' tab of
the 'Setup Screen' is enabled, all credit card sales (not using express manual
processing) will print suggested gratuity amounts of 15%, 18% and 20% along with
the totals.
18. ** NEW ** "Print Extra Copy of On Account Receipts"option added.
If this option (located in the "Receipt" tab of the Setup screen) is
enabled, an extra copy of the receipt will print for on-account invoices (if you
have the receipt printer set to receipt size.) This is so the store can keep a
signed copy for its records.
19. ** NEW ** CRE and RPE can now be set to require the extra numbers printed on
the back of the credit card (or front for American Express) if the credit card
number is entered by hand. Having these extra numbers decreases
the chance that the credit card is stolen by helping ensure that the person
actually has the card. This does not apply to transactions where the card is
swiped. CRE/RPE can prompt for the number whether you are using PC Charge, IC
Verify or manual processing, but will only be processed if you are using PC
Charge. This option is in the "Credit & Debit" tab of the Setup
screen.
20. Added a utility to import data directly from QuickSell 2000. It imports
inventory, customers, departments, and vendors. You can access this utility by
typing Control+Q from the ASCII Transfer screen (option 3A.)
21. ** NEW ** Added a "Keyboard" button to the password screen. When
touched or clicked, this will bring up an on-screen keyboard for terminals that
don't have a physical keyboard.
22. ** NEW ** Changed "Recall On-Hold Invoice" buttons to a new list
interface, where you can select the on-hold ID off of a list of all the invoices
currently on hold.
23. In Restaurant Pro Express, adding in an Extra item with a negative price is
now subject to the Returns (-Quantities) permission in the Employee Maintenance
screen.
24. The total amount of voided sales, tax-inclusive, is now included in the
totals section of the "Detailed Daily Report."
25. ** NEW ** "Require Employee to Clock-In Before Log-In"option added
to the Employee Maintenance screen. If this is enabled, the employee is forced
to clock in before using the system.
26. ** NEW ** You can now disable a Friendly Printer for a particular station.
This only applies for order and kitchen printers--you cannot disable the receipt
printer, report printer, etc., only for Friendly Printers that you create. One
useful situation for this is in a bar -- normally, if you have a bar order
printer set up, all orders print there, even orders that the bartender himself
places. You can now specify that orders placed at the bar station don't print to
the bar printer, since the bartender already knows to make his own order.
27. ** NEW ** "Item Activity" report added. This report lists the
quantity of sales and PO activity for your items within a particular date range.
Item quantities must be updated using POs and Instant POs for this report to
work
effectively.
