The new version has a new, completely redesigned inventory maintenance screen. Cash Restaurant Express/Restaurant Express now accepts debit cards with pin pads. We have now added a new style matrix screen especially for clothing stores. The complete list of additional 9.30 features are listed below.
Release 9.30 October 28th, 2003
1. ** NEW ** Re-designed "nventory Maintenance" screen. The new screen is nicer looking, easier to use, and 100 percent touch-screen compatible. In addition to the visual changes, a number of features have been added or enhanced:
-- You can now have an unlimited number of Tag-Along items (previously called
Helper Items)
-- A picture can be selected for each item
-- Each item can have multiple vendors associated to it, each with its own
re-order cost. Any one can be assigned as the preferred vendor for an item, for
purposes of purchase orders
-- Modifier groups can now be created, and assigned to an inventory item
(explained below).
-- Recipe section has been added (explained below)
-- Pass-Along item type added. A Pass-Along item is an easy way to select which
product is being sold from a group of similar products. For example, if you are
a grocery store that sells green grapes, red grapes, black seeded grapes, and
black seedless grapes, you can make a pass-along item called Grapes. When you
sell grapes, it asks you which of the four you'd like to sell, displaying the
four options on the screen.
2. ** NEW ** Added support for DEBIT CARDS using a pin pad. Debit cards have a lower processing fee versus credit cards, and are becoming more popular with consumers. Using Budget POS's credit/debit processing service, along with CRE and a high-speed internet connection, you can now process debit cards in 2-3 seconds.
3. ** NEW ** Modifier groups and multiple levels of modifiers added. Instead of
having all the modifiers for an item appear in one big selection screen, RPE can
now be set up to walk you through different levels of selection. For example,
when you sell a steak dinner, you can set up RPE to first ask the server to
"Select Meat Temperature". After the server selects the meat a second
modifier screen "SELECT VEGETABLE" can appear.
4. ** NEW ** Recipe and Ingredient Tracking added into RPE/CRE. Restaurants can
use this feature to track their COGS and forecast what ingredients they need for
any given day. Retail stores such as a candy store can use it to turn their raw
ingredients into finished product. A recipe can be built in the new
"Inventory Maintenance" screen.
5. ** NEW ** Added "Item Transfers In" and "Item Transfers
Out" reports, which detail inventory transfers.
6. ** NEW ** "Invoice Totals -- Daily Summary" report added. This
report includes the totals of each day, within a date range, including number of
tickets and average ticket.
7. ** NEW ** "Process Offline" added for PC Charge credit card
processing. If you ever do sales and/or shows where you are on the road, and
have no access to a dialup or internet connection, you can check this box off to
direct PC Charge to process offline.
8. ** NEW ** Replaced "Group Maintenance" with "Styles
Matrix" screen, which has a more detailed, easier to use matrix. The new
matrix allows you to have item numbers automatically generated for a large
amount of size and color combinations. Using this screen to enter your styles
cuts down the amount of data entry to a fraction of what it was before.
9. ** NEW ** Added "Returns" report, which can generate either a
simple report listing what was returned, or one itemized by reason code if the
'Log Returns' feature is being used.
10. ** NEW ** 'Log Returns' feature added into CRE/RPE. You can now require all
returns to have extra information attached to them, so you can know who returned
products and why they were returned.
11. ** NEW ** Re-designed "Inventory Track Express" to include a new
look and several new features. The new ITE allows you to create or receive
purchase orders, take inventory, and print inventory worksheets so you can take
inventory even if you don't have a handheld. The interface is more graphic and
user-friendly.
12. The "Cash Drawer Port" can now be set to "Epson Printer
Driven," which allows use of USB and network models of the Epson printer.
13. ** NEW ** Added in "Employee Hours & Wages -- Summary" report.
This report lists only the totals of the Hours & Wages report, which is
easier to read through if you do not need the details.
14. ** NEW** "End of Day" report added, which will break down basic
sales figures for each cashier. This report requires your default printer to be
your report printer (so it will support landscape printing).
15. ** NEW ** "Earn $s for Bonus Points" option added to the
"Invoice Settings" tab of the Setup Screen. This feature will override
the other bonus point options, and reward customers one bonus point for every
dollar spent.
16. ** NEW ** "Cashier ID to Store with Sale" option added to the
"Invoice Settings" tab of the Setup Screen. This is only used in
stores and restaurants where the person who closes out a sale may be different
from the one who starts the sale. Usually, the cashier who starts the sale is
the one whose ID is stored with the sale forever. You now have an option to
record the sale under the cashier who closes out the sale.
17. You can now select the "Start Date" and "End Date"
fields off a calendar. To bring up the calendar selection, double click on the
start or end date.
18. ** NEW ** "Change Party Size" button added to the touch screen
configuration. This allows you to put a button on the restaurant invoice screen
that can increase the party size if more guests join the party.
19. If the "Order By Guest" function is used in Restaurant Pro
Express, it will now display the guest number on the invoice grid.
20. Check transactions can now be processed through PC Charge.
21. ** NEW ** Added "Delete Backorder" button to the backorders
screen, so if somebody cancels the backorder, you no longer need to have it on
the list.
22. ** NEW ** You can now print a customer's notes on the bottom of the receipt.
The "Print Notes" on receipt option has been added to the
"Notes" tab of the Customer Maintenance screen. This option is
selected by the customer, and the notes will only print on the
"Receipt" and "Short Receipt" size printouts. A good use for
this feature is to put directions to a customer's house or office for
deliveries.
23. ** NEW ** Added "Cashier ID to Store With Sale" option. For retail
stores who use on-hold invoices, and restaurants who use table management, you
can choose if the sale will be tied to the cashier/server who started the
invoice/table, or the person who cashed it out.
