Testing a Pole Display to See if it Works

1) Go to the MS-DOS prompt by clicking Start then Programs then MS-DOS prompt.

At the c:> prompt, type:

mode comX 96,n,8,1
(where X= the com port that the pole display is plugged into)

When you press the enter key you should get a confirmation.

2) Type:

type con>com1:

then press the enter key

Type the word: TEST

At this point, you should see the word TEST on the pole display. If this is so, then you are communicating with your pole display.
